Rodar reads your vehicle's diagnostic data through an OBD-II adapter and helps you understand what it says. This policy explains, plainly, what is collected, why, who it is shared with and how to delete all of it.
The app is maintained by Gabriel Sampaio (Gabuldev). Contact for any privacy matter, including data deletion: contato@gabul.dev.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email and, if you provide one, a display name | To identify your account and keep your history separate from other people's. |
| Vehicle identification number (VIN), communication protocol, trouble codes and engine sensor readings | To build the diagnosis, keep your history and let you compare readings over time. |
| A report of what the vehicle answers, including the raw response to each parameter | To learn which data that model exposes, so the screen shows what exists and no empty gauges. |
| The app version that produced each record | To tell a change in the vehicle apart from a change in the app itself when reading the history. |
| Rodar Pro subscription purchase history: plan, start, renewal and cancellation dates, and your account identifier | To know whether your subscription is active, unlock paid features on any device you sign in to and restore the purchase if you change phones. |
Rodar does not collect location, calendar, contacts, photos or advertising identifiers, and does not use your data for ads. It also does not receive or store your card details or any other payment method: billing is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play.
The app asks for Bluetooth permission only to talk to your car's OBD-II
adapter. On Android the scan permission is declared with
neverForLocation, meaning we tell the system we do not use
Bluetooth to infer where you are - and we don't.
AI-assisted analysis and session recording are part of Rodar Pro, a monthly or yearly subscription that renews automatically. Purchase, billing, the trial period and cancellation are handled by the store you installed the app from, under its terms. To cancel, use the subscription settings in the App Store or Google Play; deleting the app or your Rodar account does not stop billing in the store.
We do not sell data and do not share it with third parties for commercial purposes. We use these services to make the app work:
Your records are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete the account, they are deleted with it - see the next section. Purchase records may be kept for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes.
Inside the app, under Account, there is a Delete my account option. It permanently removes:
This cannot be undone and does not require talking to anyone. If you prefer, you can also request deletion by email at contato@gabul.dev. Remember to cancel your subscription in the store first, if you have one.
You can ask to confirm whether we process your data, access it, correct incomplete or outdated data, have it anonymized or deleted, receive a copy in a portable format and withdraw your consent. In Brazil these rights are guaranteed by the General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13,709/2018); where you live, local law may grant you the same or further rights. To exercise any of them, write to contato@gabul.dev.
Rodar is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from that age group.
The assisted analysis is an interpretation of sensor data, not a technical inspection report. It speaks in possibilities and always recommends confirming with a mechanic before replacing any part.
If this policy changes, the date at the top is updated. Significant changes will also be announced inside the app.
